Synopsis

Long ago, all humans lived beneath the sea. However, some people preferred the surface and abandoned living underwater permanently. As a consequence, they were stripped of their god-given protection called "Ena" which allowed them to breathe underwater. Over time, the rift between the denizens of the sea and of the surface widened, although contact between the two peoples still existed.

Nagi no Asukara follows the story of Hikari Sakishima and Manaka Mukaido, along with their childhood friends Chisaki Hiradaira and Kaname Isaki, who are forced to leave the sea and attend a school on the surface. There, the group also meets Tsumugu Kihara, a fellow student and fisherman who loves the sea.

Hikari and his friends' lives are bound to change as they have to deal with the deep-seated hatred and discrimination between the people of sea and of the surface, the storms in their personal lives, as well as an impending tempest which may spell doom for all who dwell on the surface.

My review!!!

The Anime can be watched on Crunchyroll...

Crunchyroll: A Lull in the Sea

Here is what they have to say about the show...

About the Show

Long ago, all humans lived in the ocean. But some who longed for the land abandoned the ocean, casting off the special raiments granted to them by the sea god to adapt them to life under the sea...

Not much to go on with just that one so thankfully we already had the synopsis right!

So now to get right into it.. The characters are charismatic and cute.. They caught me up right away! At the end of the first episode I found myself really wanting to know what happens next for them. By the end of the 5th episode I was completely attached to them and their history that I wanted to keep going... But I had to stop to write this or I would have given things away!

Check out this PV to see some of the things I see...

Sorry it's just a link but I couldn't find one with sound still on YouTube! It will be interesting to see what kind of danger is in store for these kids! Yes I said danger... The god scale said something about that... Yes I left that a bit cryptic on purpose!

Now it's time to rate it

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must-Watch" rating I give this...

There is a very good chance that by the time I finish this I am going to think it is a 10... So you should really take the time to check it out even if you think it might not be what you like.
I'm headed back to finish the series now!

As always... Thanx for reading my review!
Have a magical day!
