My review!!!

The manga this week can be found on MangaPark

MangaPark: Love Lab

NOTE:
This one is written by Miyahara Ruri and is not to be confused with Love Laboratory (which is sometimes shortened to love lab) that is written by NAKAYAMA Kanmi. They are very different stories to say the least! And now... On to the review!

I read a bit farther than I needed to with this one because each chapter is really short in the beginning... I am unsure if they will change as the story develops but in the beginning I was surprised at how short each was. So the first thing I can say is that it is a good manga for when you have little to no time to spare but need to get a manga fix in!

To be a part of an all-girls school and to be the polar opposite of the person you are "helping" is such a great start to a plot... The fact that you are not as you have made yourself seem is a good twist... And add in that the things you talk about are soooo funny and you get a great story!

That is basically what I have seen happen to Riko in the first set of chapters... The fact that the story has a LOT of volumes says it really did go great! I wonder how the characters develop further along... Are they ever able to get that all illusive boyfriend or are they just stuck in some kind of wishful thinking?

Not to mention... Does the secret that you haven't actually.... Wait... I'll leave that part for you to figure out when you read the story for yourself! So check it out if you want to know what secret lie is told by Riko while she is trying to keep Maki's secret...

Now that I have got you wondering about stuff in the story... Let's get to the good part... Rating time!

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must-read" rating I give this...

The chapters are funny and entertaining but too short for me... I think it would be great as a filler manga to read as of right now.. Maybe if the chapters get a bit more to them as I go along I will end up thinking differently but right now that just isn't the case!

I'm not sure how long it will take me to read this one though because if I want to sit down and read a manga I don't want to have to keep changing chapters... I want to be on one chapter for a bit and see a good amount of character development. But then that is just how I like my manga!

I'm going to end the review now since I feel like saying anything else would either give away too much or would spoil something funny...

As always... Thanx for reading what I wrote!
Have a love filled day!

Eto Tamashii (alternate name)
.
Anime
.
Synopsis
.
.
When Takeru Amato moved into his new apartment in Akihabara, he was warned that there was one problem with it. He wasn’t warned, however, that the problem was a hole in the floor that leads to the realm of the zodiac gods. He also wasn’t told about Nyaa-tan, the eccentric, immature, prospective zodiac-sign cat.

Nyaa-tan would like nothing more than to join the rest of the girls, otherwise known as Eto-shin, in the Chineze zodiac, but she’s going to have to fight to work her way in. Fortunately, establishing a relationship with Takeru can help her with that. In Etotama the members of the zodiac don’t just represent people’s births; they draw their power from positive human emotions in the form of energy called Sol/Lull. With this power, the Eto-musume, or potential Eto-shin, can change from their mostly humanoid appearances into smaller “pretty modes” that can battle with each other in the Eto world.

Nyaa-tan needs to get Takeru to warm up to him fast, and not just because they’re living together. The ETM12 selection festival to determine the next member of the zodiac is coming soon. With Takeru’s good graces, Nyaa-tan just might be able to fight off the other Eto-musume and the 12 Eto-shin themselves, and finally take her place in the zodiac.

My review!!!

The Anime can be watched on CrunchyRoll...

Here is what they had to say about it...

About the Show

Since ancient times, Japan has upheld the tradition of the 12 Zodiac signs. Eto-musumes (Zodiac girls), who have the appearance and behavior of the animals of the Zodiac, are pure hearted messengers who act as a bridge between humans and the gods. Every 60 years, the “ETM 12” tournament takes place in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, where aspiring girls from all over Japan gather for the chance to become the next zodiac sign.

So this one is a good one! It reminded me a lot of Fruits Baskets when I first started it... After all it is the zodiac and the cat trying to become a part of it.... However there was a twist even in the first 5 episodes... The cat doesn't even remember why they want to be in the zodiac and the rat has a grudge agents the cat! Yet no one knows what the cat did to anger the rat and the cat has amnesia so she can't explain anything! Talk about a bind! This cute kitty doesn't have a clue!

As if that wasn't enough to get you interested... They add in all kinds of fights to gain talisman like things that would actually allow the zodiac to change animals... If I had to describe it then I would say it was like taking Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Fruits Baskets and rolling it all into one anime... Ya I would say that fits!

The smaller version of our kitty-girl is her fighting form... Ya that's right... To fight they go Chibi!!!!

SOOOOO CUTE!!!!

I haven't finished it yet but I really think I will finish the 12 episodes today... I don't know if there is a second season or not but I will find out and let you know if there is!

Once again... Since I have your attention... It's time to rate it!

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must-Watch" rating I give this...

There are just so many things mixed in that I didn't even realize I had watched the first five... It flew by! If you are looking for an anime that you can really lose yourself to that is cute and suggestive all at the same time this one is probably a good pick! I love how it moves both fast and slow at the same time and keeps you trying to figure out the point behind things... There are sad and cute times as well as happy and crazy times! it just seems like it has it all... Once I finish the series then I will know if it should have gotten a 10 instead...

If I change it I'll add it as an update!

Well that is all for now... I am not sharing pictures cause I want you to watch it to find out how cute these zodiac people can be!

As always... Thanx for reading my review!
Have a magical day!

One touch from this man makes my heart race! Also, what is the meaning of that sudden kiss?!

My review!!!

The manga this week can be found on MangaPark...

MangaPark: Monster Master

This picture has all the info in it f you want to order it from somewhere... I think you can give them the ISBN numbers and they can figure it out from there!

So moving on.... Time to actually do the review!

Now as we all know... I LOVE YAOI! I don't try to hide it... I think  I even like the "Bad" yaoi... Or at least I'm told they are bad. So for me to do this review objectively was really hard!!! But I did my best and I feel that I did pretty good too!

This manga touched on a few taboo or touchy topics...
Let's list them shall we!
The first one was the very fact that it is about a gay couple... There are people out there who would get upset at the idea this is possible (even though it is a real thing) and those people would throw a fit... So this manga is not for you if you if you are homophobic! Neither is this review... So you can stop reading here... But the rest of you can continue!

The second one was the age gap between the two people in the couple... Though they don't say exactly how old each one is I would assume a kid still in school and a man who is president of a business have enough years between them to turn a few heads... And I don't mean in the good way!
There are bound to be people in the USA that are going to cry it's pedophile material... It's not!

The third one was the fact that this older man was supposed to be adopting this young boy and he kisses him out of no where... You have to read the manga to find out if anything else happens though! I'm sure there are people who would claim this was promoting incest.... Again... It's not!

People come on... It's a manga... Yes it is full of taboo or sensitive topics... But that's it!

It is drawn wonderfully... The story-line isn't a bad one... The characters grow as the story progresses... There isn't really anything I can think of that is technically wrong with it.

Wait... I take that back... It's too short! I feel like there could have been soooo much more done with more chapters... My standard 5 chapters finished the manga from what I can tell! So for those of you out there who like short stories this is a good one for you... That is as long as you don't mind yaoi!

Now on this note I think it is a good time to rate it

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must-read" rating I give this...
.
.
.
7
.
.
.
I know... With all that praise why did it only score a 7... Right???

That is easy... It was too short for me!!!! I wanted to know how there lives developed as well as their relationship... And let's not forget that we need to know if he is accepted by the older guys family!
None the less we don't find out this... At least not on the site I found to read it on!
And with this I am going to end the review!

As always... Thanx for reading what I've written!
Have a taboo day!

Radiation Fatigue and the Use of A Nutritional Supplement

Edward H.Gilbert, M.D., Denise Lindley R.N.,BSN,OCN, Michelle Karlin, RN, AOCNP,FNP-BC
Northpoint Cancer Center, Dallas Texas and Verity Cancer Center, Plano Texas

Radiation Induced Fatigue and a Nutritional Supplement Named Reliv

Radiation induced fatigue is a specific syndrome. It is much more defined than “cancer related fatigue.” It is usually not multifactorial, and typically arises within 1-5 weeks after the beginning of radiation treatments. There is usually resolution in the 3-4 weeks post treatment. Radiation fatigue is less intense than chemotherapy caused fatigue.

The nutritional supplement trial with Reliv was based on a number of anecdotal stories of remarkable reversals in various symptoms, and in disease processes such as arthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia, etc. These responses included reduced pain, increased energy, and feelings of wellbeing. This trial had some degree of simplicity. The fatigue symptom was limited in etiological causes, since the criteria for trial entry was fatigue presenting after the start of radiation treatment. The response was to measure the change in a short period of 1-4 weeks on the product. Patients were at different stages in their radiation treatment. Many would be finishing, and in the 2-4 weeks after completion fatigue normally improves on its own.

It was appreciated that this was essentially a “feasibility study,” and its scientific accuracy would need to be documented in a controlled trial. Yet, if any responses were seen, then this would validate doing a next phase. The placebo effect itself was recognized as a limitation. Also, a major issue was compliance in taking the powder twice a day, and thereby giving credibility to any non-responders. This was not adequately measured, so that in the 9 patients who had no response, lack of compliance was possible. However, the majority were seemingly honest in their reporting.

Material and Methods:
The product used was Reliv Classic and for half of the study, Innergize was added to the Classic Reliv. Availability of the product determined whether Innergize was added. The dose was 1 scoop twice a day in liquid (it should be noted that a minimum of 2 scoops twice a day is a more standard recommendation). The lower dose was decided upon to help compliance. There was enough product available for a 4 weeks trial for each patient.

The assessment tool was “The Fatigue Severity Scale.” It may not be totally appropriate for radiation caused fatigue, but it was at least a rough validation of response. Absolute scores were less important than relative change of the score over time. Compliance of returning the questionnaire was very varied, but all had at least 2 responses. The attempt was for 1 response a week. Further, patients were interviewed as to how they perceived their responses to be. For this study, credibility was given to the patient subjective reporting.

Patient selection was their declaration of significant fatigue, starting after the onset of radiation treatment. There was no restriction on when the fatigue began and when they started on the Reliv.

It should be noted that there were no other variables introduced to the patients. The fatigue began, and rather than giving any further interventions, the Reliv was started. Further, the acute results are what are being reported. Still, as noted in the individual reports, there were some patients with longer lasting effects, with these patients willing to continue the supplement on their own.

Excellent response was a combination of significant change in the “Fatigue Severity Scale” and their self reporting of a major improvement. A good response was from a +8 to +15 change and also the self report of good improvement. No response could be their stopping the product (one because of vomiting), compliance problems, and most frequently the report of no response and no score improvement.

Discussion:

Radiation induced fatigue is a well defined symptom linked to radiation therapy. There has not been an adequate treatment approach, with little having a significant effect. Physical exercise is considered very important, but patients are often too tired to have a consistent regimen. Mind-body therapies can be helpful, but most patients do not pursue these (acupuncture, meditation, message therapies, etc). And there are the issues of a more pronounced “cancer related fatigue,” complex in etiology and suggested intervention techniques. Further, many of these patients are on concurrent chemotherapy, are anemic, and report other cancer treatment related side effects.

Nutritional recommendations are controversial and very complicated. A general statement of taking vitamin supplements, or extra specific minerals, or various therapies such as juicing, is often made. Patients are typically left to their own pursuits or discoveries, yet most health care professionals would encourage nutritional approaches to help the fatigue problem. Using a product such as Reliv, with a 22 year history, was a relatively simplistic attempt to study whether a response was possible.

This study was a “feasibility study” in the sense that all we were looking for was some effect. The number of variables to do a proper scientific analysis is large, and would represent the next phase of research. The possibility of the placebo effect requires a randomized trial, and was inappropriate to this feasibility study. However, this is recognized in reporting, as well as compliance difficulties, and subjectivity of the questionnaires. All that said, there were the very definite improvements, and in some situations, dramatic changes.

Reliv contains a variety of vitamins, minerals and herbs in a powder base excellent for absorption. It is an easy product to prescribe, with dosing fairly standard. Further, there has been much experience with some studies and many testimonials for a positive result with Reliv. We personally were encouraged by these reports of significant improvement with a range of symptoms from other diseases. Testing a nutritional supplement for relief from fatigue was the motivation for this study. Further, few nutritional products have been formally recommended by the scientific experts in oncology.

The result was a certainly positive response. Approximately 75% of the patients with radiation fatigue had relatively immediate results, many within 2 weeks of starting the product. Roughly 25% of the cohort reported excellent results in reversal of radiation fatigue, and improvement or relief from other symptoms. There was no harm done to those who reported no response (except one with a few episodes of vomiting). The results warrant a more extensive trial with all the scientific rigors applied.

Reliv is distributed through a multilevel sales channel. Some clinicians and administrators have high resistance and negative preconceptions of products distributed via multilevel marketing. It is crucial to point out that all product in this study was provided free of charge and no attempt was made to enlist patients in further purchase or marketing the product. A few members of the cohort did buy additional product after the initial response but none were asked to participate in distribution.

Cancer related symptoms often are the most significant issue in quality of life. Treatments such as radiation can be highly symptom producing, with fatigue perhaps the most generic problem. Having the possibility to reverse this problem during the course of radiation is a significant benefit helping both the patient, their family, and the healthcare professionals managing their treatments.

Summary:

A feasibility study on 37 patients undergoing or just having completed radiation and having significant radiation fatigue was conducted. The patients were placed on a nutritional supplement program named Reliv, and measured for response over 2-4 week continuous treatment. Results show that 75% of participants considered their result as helping their fatigue, and 25% of the entire group reported an “excellent” response. The feasibility study’s result warrants a second phase clinical study conducted under rigorous scientific methodology, and should be considered for the syndrome of “cancer related fatigue.”

This product comes in two flavors... the Lemon you see above and along with Orange. Personally I like the lemon better... You just mix it with water and it tastes very much like Crystal light's lemonade! I noticed when I was drinking this that I did have more energy but I only noticed it because I did something that normally would wear me out in no time and I wasn't tired when I finally finished. I could only say the shake worked in such a way I didn't even notice it was working!

Up until that day I had been thinking the only reason I wanted to continue drinking it was because it tasted great on it's own or mixed with my favorite other juices! But after that day I realized that even though I couldn't tell it was working I had proof... Now I knew it was working!

I'm telling you all this because I know how frustrating it can be to spend money on something and see no results... I recommend that you drink the shake for a month and then try something that you would have had trouble completing or have gotten tired from doing before you started the shake... Then compare for yourself how much has changed and if it was easier or less tiring! I can tell you I was pleasantly surprised and I'm pretty sure you will be too!

I hope my sharing this story has put a stop to you wondering if it is working... Or at least put a temporary hold to it... I know someone who had to wait 3 months to really see big differences but even she said it was worth it! So give it a try and let me know how you do with it... I wanna hear all the success stories I can so I have more to share with others who are curious!

I'm gonna end this post here... Hope it was helpful!

As always... Thanx for reading my posts!
Have a healthy day!

Sakamoto desu ga?

Anime
.
Synopsis
.
.
Sophisticated, suave, sublime; all words which describe the exceedingly handsome and patently perfect Sakamoto. Though it is only his first day in high school, his attractiveness, intelligence, and charm already has the girls swooning and the guys fuming with jealousy. No one seems able to derail him, as all attempts at tripping him up are quickly foiled. His sangfroid is indomitable, his wits peerless. Will any of Sakamoto's classmates, or even teachers, be able to reach his level of excellence? Probably not, but they just might learn a thing or two trying...

My review!!!

The Anime can be watched on Crunchyroll...

Here is what they have to say about the show...

About the Show

Sakamoto is not a normal high schooler. He’s smart, he’s dashing, he’s popular with girls. Much to the dislike of the male population of his school, who tries every trick in the book to mess Sakamoto up. But in the end, Sakamoto comes out of every trap with style and makes himself look cooler. Does he do this for popularity? Is this just who he is? No one really knows, but haven’t you heard? He’s Sakamoto!

Yup that is one picture of Sakamoto... I watched 5 episodes of sparkly event after sparkly event... No matter what this kid gets caught up in they make him look like a something out of a fairytale! here is another example of sparkly-kun...

Seeeeeee... Do you see what I mean????

I am not a fan of this anime... I feel like it is way too much of a "Perfect" character style they have going on in this one... I couldn't find any love for him what so ever... All I could do was hold back laughing at the ridiculous situations he ended up in or how he dealt with those same situations!

I mean... don't get me wrong... His character is drawn soooo wonderfully... I just feel like he should be less dorky while he is being cool... It's probably just my opinion interfering though! I mean sure... I can see why people would like this one too... I just couldn't make myself like it!

I asked my son to watch one episode with me just so that maybe he could curb my dislike a bit... But I guess we have the same taste because he just bust out laughing and at the end asked me "Ma... What the heck did you just make me watch!?!?" and started laughing again.

I can't help it... I mean... He is the ridiculously photogenic anime guy after all... Everything he does is done so that if at any time you snapped a picture it would come out perfect! Yes... It can really be a spectacle to see... But I have to say I think that is a redeeming point right?

I mean... Even if he is doing something silly... If it is easy on the eyes then it can be forgiven or for some it can even be turned into a fantasy... Though I'm not quite sure how that would work. No matter though because if it works for someone then It's all good right?

Maybe this is how...

Oh I know... It could be parts from the time he was changing at work....

Yup.... That has to be it... I can't think of any other way... Plus there is this pic too...

OK... Now that I catered to the eye-candy part of this post I think we should rate it!

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must-Watch" rating I give this...

It's gatta get a 5 because I can see how people would like it and also how people like me would not. So to each their own I guess... And it is on this note I am going to end this review!

My review!!!

Well this was a cute twist on a unexpected romance!

The two things this story's synopsis doesn't tell you that you need to know in order to understand everything that happens in the story are as follows...

1) That Kikuchi-sensei is completly straight and was confessed to by a make student...
2) Kikuchi-sensei refused to even hear out this young man's feeling and was cursed because of it...

The unlucky strike is the curse! No woman will ever love him again but every man alive will.

We follow Kikuchi as he attempts to break the curse... And unintentionally stumbles on a love he doesn't know if he wants to lose! There is a lot of supernatural stuff going on with this too... But to find out exactly what you need to read!
