Spotlight Review Wednesday: Manga 10~28~2015

Spotlight Review

Sora no Otoshimono

(Heaven's Lost Property)

Manga

Synopsis

Sakurai Tomoki has been having the same strange dream since he was a child and would wake up in tears. Sugata, an upperclassman at his school, believes the dream to be of the new continent. Later that night, while waiting under the cherry trees for Sugata and his childhood friend, an angel called Ikaros comes flying down and his peaceful life changes from then on.

Now for my review!!!

The Manga this week was really hard for me to get through since I have seen the Anime. I had to keep reminding myself this for a review. I wanted to just watch it lol. Anyhow, I read most of my Manga on one site... Here is the link...

They have never given me a hard time with adds or pop-ups and have a massive collection! I don't think they have an app yet but their site works well on your tablet or phone browser.

So here is what I found in the first 5 chapters. We follow Ikaros (she is the first one of the Angeloids we meet) and Tomoki (he is a pretty perverted teen) on their adventures. They meet up with and hang out with a variety of people over the course of the manga, however, since I am only reviewing the first 5 chapters I won't be introducing them all to you.

now lets do introductions!!! we start with...

Tomoki Sakurai

Don't be fooled by this face.. he is not quite so innocent! His mind strays from clean quite often with some crazy consequences from it! Now let me introduce the next person! Actually we meet her before we even meet Ikaros! Introducing

Sohara Mitsuki

She's a regular firecracker with a killer karate chop!!! She is also responsible for introducing our next person... He is considered crazy by most and it's true he seems that way since we meet him right before he jumps off a building with a home made hang glider! Introducing...

 Eishiro Sugata

These two are both around before Tomoki meets Ikaros. Speaking of which here is a pic of her...

In the first 5 chapters we have people go missing, panties go flying, and we learn a bit more about our lovely angeloid! There is just enough information about these characters shown to us that we can fall in love with them quite easily.

Now to rate it.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must read" rating I give this..

.
.
The reason I gave it this is because it went a bit slow compared to the Anime. If you are thinking you want to read and watch this one then I suggest reading it first. It is definitely worth it!

Hope you all enjoyed this Manga Spotlight Review!!!

Have a great day!!!

Oh... Don't forget to leave me a comment about what Manga you want me to review next!

28 day Planking Challenge Conclusion...

A while ago I posted a challenge for everyone and told them I would be doing it to... If you forgot about what I'm talking about here is a link to that post...

Now yesterday was technically the 28th day but I don't post things over the weekend so I'm writing it for today. I have to say this challenge was a LOT harder than I thought it would be!!! I also have to admit I wasn't able to finish it. About half way through it... Around the days we were to start the 90 second planking... My oldest daughter who is only 6 had to go in for an unexpected surgery. She had to have her appendix removed! Needless to say that and the care she needed after the surgery took full attention and I completely forgot to do the challenge. Sorry!!!

As for trying it again... I probably will at some point however tomorrow I go in for the first of two surgeries so I won't able to do this for a while.

Please keep me in your thoughts that nothing goes wrong! Thanx in advance!!!

I am trying to write a few blogs ahead of time to be sure that I always have a post out but there may be a laps in posts. If that happens I will post an explanation as soon as I can. I'm not writing Friday's post ahead of time since I'm not sure I'll be able to write the review in time because it takes me a while to watch or read what I need to for it. I will write the announcement of the next spotlight review on Friday if I can and if I can't then I will explain why I can't...

Sorry in advance for if this should happen!

Also a bit of an update for you... Last week I told you all that Sharla From Sharla in Japan hadn't yet given me the ok to use her videos... Great news... as of yesterday I got the ok!!! yay!!! Sooooo... I hope you enjoy her videos as much as I do!!!

That's all for now! I can't wait to hear what you think of the new stuff!!!

Hope to be back in person before to long! Have a great day!!!

Spotlight Review Wednesday:Anime 10~21~2015

Spotlight Review

Sayuri Haruno dreams of becoming a pastry chef and enrolls in Fleurir Confectionary Academy, an elite school located in Tokyo's trendy Aoyama district. At Fleurir, she finds herself surrounded by charming boys, each one distinctly unique. Out of the entire class, Ryou Kouzuki's desire to become a pastry chef is the strongest. Blessed with unparalleled technique, instructor Mitsuki Aoi acts like a prince and is hugely popular at the school. Gilbert Hanafusa, the mood maker of the bunch, is a student from France. Yoshinosuke Suzumi is not very good at expressing his feelings, but underneath his stony exterior lies a wholehearted passion for wagashi (Japanese sweets).

As Sayuri pours her heart and soul into making her dream a reality, she encounters many happenings...

Now for my review!!!

The original story follows Sayuri Haruno, a girl who attends an elite confectionery school Fleurir on a scholarship to follow her dream to open a pastry shop. There she meets several charming young men.

Yup that's them!!! They don't give you much to go on do they?!?!

That's ok cause it's my job to tell you more!!! Now to watch!!!
.
.
.
.
.
So I was really surprised by this Anime... The episode list is quite long... Here is a link to their page for this show...

See what I mean? 24 episodes of fun packed days learning the art of being a Pastry chef!! But wait for it... there is a twist to this... each episode is sooooo short!!!! Yup,,, That's right... we get a huge list but it equals less watching time than all the other Anime I have ever seen!!! It goes farther than just being shorter though... The entire series is shorter than an hour!!!

This series is perfect for you if you want a quick Anime fix before going out to meet friends or off to work. However, if your looking for something a bit more satisfying you might not want to watch it.

Now for the plot!

Yes Young Sayuri is trying to learn to be a pastry chef but that isn't all there is to it! These young men all seem to hint at liking her!

Three of them are actually her teachers though so it is a bit complicated lol. She does Chose one of them... But... I'm not telling you who! Since I haven't read the manga (I don't even know for sure if there is one for this Anime) I couldn't tell you if there is more to the story than is shown in these episodes. You should leave me a comment if you want me to figure this out!

Now to rate it!!!
.
.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must see" rating I give this...
.
.
.
5

The reason I only gave it a 5 was because although the story was well thought out and shown really well... The episodes were just to short to be satisfying to me.

That being said... I still must say its a "Recommend" from me because you might be looking for short and sweet while I just wasn't.

That's all for this Anime review! Don't forget to leave me a comment with what Anime or Manga you would like to see me rate...

The next one I rate is going to be a Manga.

I hope you enjoyed this rating! Have a great day!!!

Questions & Info For You!!!

I HAVE TO KNOW!!!

What do you all think so far of the topics I have chosen to write about? If there is a topic you want to know more about??? Let me know so maybe I can find info or cool videos on it! I'm open to ideas about blogging topics though I may or may not use them.

Who knows you may just spark my "want to know" button!

I LOVE learning new things so it's possible!

I WANT YOU TO KNOW!!!

I will be missing out on writing blogs for you around the 27th of this month due to an upcoming operation I'm going to have... Not that I want to but I need to. I'll try and schedule some posts to come out but with how unreliable this host has been I don't know if they will actually come out on time. Though the scheduling hasn't been the issue I never know if it will stop working.

Keep me in your thoughts on the 27th until you hear from me that it all went well... no operation is ever completely safe so I would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers that nothing goes wrong!

Thanx in advance!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Next Spotlight Review... 10~21~2015

Lets start this post out with a discussion this week...
I have a question and I would love to hear your opinion!

Patreon: For me or not for me...
That is the question...

Patreon is a cool site that is kind of like kickstarter but not quite. With Patreon you basically have a virtual monthly tip jar instead of a one time donation for a specific project. Because of this the tips can be any amount. This makes it convenient for not only you but for the person receiving the tips!

This is a great site from what I've seen, It's for the people who blog or draw or write that need the support of patrons to keep doing those things.

So here is how I fit into this whole thing... I blog here every weekday of every week and I am working on writing a book. Add to that the fact that I am studying Photography from New York Institute of Photography and I don't have time to get a conventional job. These things are my passion and I'd be doing them regardless of if I had patrons or not but having them would make it less stressful and easier for me to keep it up.

Here is an example of a picture I took that I was thinking I somehow work into the patreon deal. the real one for my patrons would not have the watermark over the center though...

There are others too but I'm not putting them here.

So what do you think??? Should I take the plunge and become a member of Patreon or not?

Let me know in the comments below!

Spotlight Review Wednesday: Manga 10~14~2015

Spotlight Review

(I'm not able to find the title in Japanese so it's posted how i found it!)

(This is the first Manga review I've done so please bear with me as I stumble through lol. I'm not sure of the setup I want to have for this Spotlight format either! It won't take me long to figure it out though so it is all good!!!)

Lets start with..... MyAnimeList Synopsis!!!

Synopsis

With a father who's a singer, a mother who's a movie star, and an older brother Shougo who's the lead vocalist for the super-popular band "The Crusherz," Sena Izumi—an otaku college student—is the only dull one born into this super-famous and talented family. He loves "Magical Girl LalaLulu" and is working hard to become a mangaka, but one day he winds up appearing in a TV commercial he just can't turn down. There, he's reunited with Ichijou Ryouma, the super-popular young actor he costarred with on a project ten years prior.

          Now For my Review!!!

I didn't read the entire Manga. Partly because it is still an ongoing one and partly because I'm doing a review and have to have this post out on time! This Manga is one I like a lot! It's a cute love story that you wouldn't expect and it has a lot of "classic troubles" in store for these two!

They do throw a twist in at the very beginning... At the start of this Manga, Ryouma thinks Izumi is a girl! When he finds out that Izumi is a boy he tries to get his emotions under control and thinks that if he proves to himself that Izumi is a boy his feelings for him will go away.

It doesn't work out that way for him though!

Ryouma ends up proving it doesn't matter if Izumi is a boy or a girl because his feelings for him are not going to go away! However, because of the ridiculous way he went about trying to prove he didn't like Izumi in the beginning, he faces a lot of trouble trying to convince Izumi to like him!

Ryouma has tough competition too... Izumi has been in love with a Manga character for a long time! Her name is LalaLulu and her creator is his inspiration to be a Mangaka! Will Ryouma be able to beat his competition? Only time will tell... But I can't wait to find out!!!

I'm not sure about you but I want to read more!

Love Stage!! is listed on this site... MangaHere...as well as on here BOTOTO. I know it was recently licensed so I don't think there are any updates on MangaHere but BOTOTO says it's still ongoing so you might have luch there. There is also the issue that MangaHere has a lot of pop-ups so I can't guarantee it is virus free. I have never had an issue there but if you want to be safe you can buy the manga or you can read it on YouTube. Here is a link to the first chapter on YouTube...

I don't know if you will find all the chapters on YouTube though.. I have seen that there are 27 chapters already published and I don't know how many volumes it is split up into. It also isn't done being written so I'm sure there are going to be chapters that are not on there and may never make it on there. If you really want to read this I recommend supporting the mangaka by buying the books!
.
.
.
Now to rate it.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must read" rating I give this..
.
.
.
8
.
.
The reason this got an 8 is because it has a cute story line and starts you off with a twist! I couldn't give it a higher rating because I feel there was a lot of opportunity to make this a more in-depth story that was just not taken. However I do love the story so I think I will be buying the book from Barnes & Noble. Here is a link to the first book for sale on their website to make it easier for you to find if you want to buy it!!!

Hope you all enjoyed this Manga Spotlight Review!!!

Have a great day!!!

Oh... Don't forget to leave me a comment about what Manga you want me to review next!

Spotlight Review Wednesday: Anime 10~7~2015

Spotlight Review

"Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?"

(This review will be a bit longer than most due to explaining how it will work since it's the first one... Yes the blue name is a link... It will bring you to the MyAnimeList page that lists this anime and other information about it like the related anime, backround, and voice actors. Every anime from this point on will have that link on the Japanese name. Also I will use romanji to right the Japanese names for those of you who want to know how to say the name in Japanese but don't read Japanese. I'll also be writing the review as I watch it so as to give a few spoilers here and there... though I won't always give them. Lastly, I'll be starting the review with the MyAnimeList synopsis.)

Synopsis

Izayoi Sakamaki, Asuka Kudou, and You Kasukabe have tremendous psychic powers and are bored with the regular world. An envelope arrives for each person, and when each opens their envelope, they are stunned to see the scenery around them change to a world they had never encountered before. They've been summoned by the Black Rabbit to help the community "No Name" to overthrow the Devil King.

Now for my review!!!

The anime can be watched on Crunchyroll though if your not a premium member you will have to deal with adds for the ones they let you watch. There are some anime you can't watch unless your a premium member. I'm a premium member so I also don't know if you can watch this one for free on crunchyroll. I don't see it in DUB so if you don't mind SUB then you can watch it here. This is the link to it...

Sorry, if you can't watch it there you can find it on YouTube here...

YouTube: Problem Children are Coming from Another World, Aren't They?

I found a playlist with them all on YouTube so if you want to watch DUB you can watch those. The video quality isn't as good as Crunchyroll but it's free so I can't complain!

Now to continue..
.
.
.
So when I first go to Crunchyroll or any other site to watch an anime I always look at the things they have to say about it... here is what Crunchyroll says..

Three problem children - Sakamaki Izayoi, Kudou Asuka, and Kasukabe You - suddenly receive an invitation to another world known as "Little Garden" from a girl called Black Rabbit. Battles, laughter, sex appeal... anything goes in this new tale of adventure!

This is only a little different from the synopsis and over all the two give us quite a bit of info! The next thing I look at is the number of episodes. In this case Wikipedia says there are 10 episodes and 1 ova. Crunchyroll has a preview but not the ova and YouTube has 11 episodes and an ova.

Not sure what one is completely right though.

Now to watch....
.
.
.
.
.
.

LOL... ok I've watched it... the preview was catchy enough to make me want to see more. Just in case the Ova and 11th episode on YouTube are part of this season, I watched them too. Here is what I found!

The children are pulled to "Little Garden" by Black Rabbit. She is an animal-human hybrid and pretty much takes a big sister/mother type of roll to the three children. She is also the one to name them problem children!

Now to tell you a bit about the children...

Kasukabe You is the girl with the short brown hair. She Joins the no-names which is a community that has lost it's name and flag to a Demon Lord. Her gift comes from a necklace she wears.

Sakamaki Izayoi is the young boy who also joins the no-names. His gift is undefined but a few things we notice is that he is very smart and super strong!

Kudou Asuka is the black haired young lady who joins the no-names. Her gift is absolute control.. How she chooses to use it however seems to change from the beginning of the show and the end.

The anime itself is fast paced and exciting enough to hold your attention. There are a lot of questions still to be answered by the end of the 11th episode and the Ova just adds more to them. This is definitely an Anime that you have to read the manga to understand all of what is going on.

Now to rate it.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being a "perfect-must see" rating I give this...
.
.
.
7

The reason for this is simple. It has too many questions to be a 10 but for what it does have I was very captivated by it. I would have spent hours on end to watch the whole thing if that was what it took and I probably would not have noticed how long I had been sitting there.

It's a definite recommend from me!!!

Don't forget to leave me a comment with what Anime or Manga you would like to see me rate...
The next one I rate is going to be a Manga.

I hope you enjoyed this rating! Have a great day!!!

10/6/15

Posting schedule...

I've been thinking about this for a while... Actually it has been since I decided that I wanted to have a blog that had some kind of post done every week that people could come back and read or look forward to... I decided on the Manga/Anime blog every Wednesday but now I'm wondering when I should announce the new one for the next week...

I'm thinking that it should be after I have gotten comments about the one I just finished... Also that it should be a day where people are going to relax.... I'm not posting anything over the weekends anymore unless something happens in my life and I get the urge to post about it.. So that means the only day that fits all this is Friday... So ya... I figure I'll post this post and let everyone know what and when I will be posting lol... Here it is... My posting schedule!!!

Sunday............................................Nothing
Monday...........................................Random
Tuesday...........................................Random
Wednesday........................Spotlight Review
Thursday..........................................Random
Friday......................Announce next Review
Saturday...........................................Nothing

**All posts are put up at 8:30 AM... EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME.**

So far this is it! I only have one thing planned for each week.... Maybe on Monday I could do an art thing or something... I don't know yet. I figure I should establish the Spotlight Review before I go planning anything else right?!?!

Anyway... Today is going to be a great day for everyone I hope! So smile and have fun!!

As always... Thank you so much for reading!!!

10/1/15

New idea!!!

I was thinking of something I could do every week instead of just random posts... And... I have come up with doing a "SPOTLIGHT" review of an Anime and another of a Manga... Here is how it will work...

They will alternate weeks... They won't always be ones I like but I figure it will give people an opinion of them... I'll keep negative feedback to a minimum by just telling people about them with a small ending section about if it's one I would watch or read again or if I regretted doing so...

I'll work out a rating or point system for them too... And post a link to the first episode or chapter I know of that is on a secure virus free site I trust. This way it will be easy to check out the one I have just told you about.

Now I know you wanna start reading or watching them right now but I need to review one first... Sooo... They will start being posted on the first Wednesday of October and then there will be one every week from that point on. I'm thinking I'll start with an Anime...

Hope you enjoy what I have to say about them!

Oh ya.. Just a thought... In each one's comment section please leave me a comment with an Anime or Manga you would like me to review. It may end up being the next weeks review!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!
